As Cofruid’Oc producers, we are building our future on this dynamic, with respect for the consumers who we love to see enjoying the fruit of our efforts and our land.
Our logo and our brands highlight this commitment.

Our History

After a terrible frost that destroyed the vineyards in 1956, some pioneers imagined an alternative to grapevines: apple trees. In the town of Saint-Just, these young men decided to come together to store, pack and then sell their new product, by creating a cooperative. They invested together, pooled the risks, learned new techniques and became entrepreneurs and salesmen. They brought new colleagues into the group.

Agronomic, climate and marketing difficulties were overcome and competitive challenges were met, making them even stronger as a group. The cooperative was rewarded and encouraged by its sturdiness and inventiveness.

It’s a story of people, in which the success of a business was built on a sense of community.

It’s the story of a group of farmers determined to take control of their future, who built a truly internationally-minded company. A company founded on the principles of fairness and responsibility, creating jobs, upholding economic values, fully committed to respect for the environment of France’s Petite Camargue region; sustainable development, before its time!

But half a century is just a milestone for this cooperative, which is resolutely forward thinking, initiating innovative projects and welcoming new producers and partners…
